You are a new parent which is exciting (and maybe a little daunting.) Perhaps you have some concerns. We encourage you to call anytime, we welcome your questions. Here are a few frequently asked questions and answers:
Q. When will you see my baby after birth?
A. We recommend an office visit at 2 to 3 weeks following delivery. Some circumstances call for 24 hour follow up.
Q. How often should my baby see you?
A. We follow the guidelines set by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Q. Thoughts about circumcision?
A. A circumcision is considered a cosmetic, elective procedure but there are medical benefits as well as risks. We can discuss this further during your first appointment.
Q. How do I know if it’s an emergency?
A. In a life-threatening emergency, dial 911. Ex: seizure, bad burns, stroke/heart attack, bleeding that won’t stop, losing consciousness, trouble breathing, severe allergic reaction.
After office hours, visit an Urgent Care facility if: rash, fever, headache, sore throat, ear pain, cough or cold, physical injuries, cuts & burns, bladder infection.
